What stared as a summer internship, turned into full time employment in the Transportation Division of Tri Transport, Inc. Not long after, Nick advanced to Operations Manager with fewer than 75 power units.
A partnership was formed with James & Diane Telles and Dominic “Nick” and Sally Carlucci. Telles Transport, Inc. was formed. With the support of their past customers, they continued to haul Cotton, Corrugated Paper, Tomatoes and Bulk Onions. They purchased the administrative office at 1487 13th Street, Firebaugh. They moved the 100 power units into today’s current Firebaugh Truck Terminal at 7161 Washoe Avenue, Firebaugh, CA
CarTel Transport was formed with the purchase of Hicks & Messer (H&M Trucking) in Patterson, CA. This purchase added Fresh Vegetables and Vegetable Transplants to the commodities list. The fleet continues to grow.
Telles Transport was dissolved. The Carlucci’s purchased remaining shares of CarTel Transport. Carlucci’s were operating under Cartel Transport and Carlucci Transport. The fleet and commodity list was on the rise.
Was a start of a new year and new face. The company began to phase out Cartel Transport and into their sole brand “Carlucci Transport”. Another equipment purchase was made to accommodate a new tomato contract. Carlucci Transport was now operating 200 power units servicing the entire State of California.
